NanoQI concluded its first semester: digital consortium meeting and lab tour

On 26th and 27th of October, NanoQI team got together to review the first semester of the project implementation. Instead of visiting beautiful Dresden, as originally planned, the meeting was done digitally due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

At the beginning of the meeting, John Fahlteich, Group Leader at the Division: Plasma Technology at Fraunhofer-FEP and also coordinator of NanoQI, presented the project’s progress and took the opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts and to keep the project activities in line with the plan despite the pandemic situation. On the agenda over the two days, an overview of the work achieved during the first 6 months in the running Work Packages was presented. A virtual Lab tour at the partner’s facilities and “at-machine” discussions took place. The partners decided on important aspects and set the course for the future project steps. In addition, during the meeting, the European Materials Characterisation Council (EMCC) was presented followed by discussions on NanoQI’s contribution to the strategic actions in characterisation of materials that are necessary to spur and support industrial exploitation of innovative materials in Europe

The meetings proved very fruitful on all fronts, and project partners reached a vision of the tasks at hand over the next months.

Despite the successful virtual meeting, we hope that it will be possible to meet each other again in person at the Month 12 meeting.
