NanoQI Successfully Finalized after 42 months
The NanoQI project reached its final day and the partners have reunited for one last time in Potsdam, Germany for the final project meeting and review on September 11 – September 12 2023. After successful three and a half years, the partners have achieved some impressive results.
Eight partners worked together to develop industry-ready, real-time, in-line technology for the characterization of nanomaterials. NanoQI optimized and combined X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and X-ray reflectometry (XRR) with novel hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology to provide industry access to real-time assessment of nano-dimensions, structure and morphology of thin film nanomaterials, as well as correlative imaging of their homogeneity and defects.
All the partners were very well received at Fraunhofer IAP and were delighted they could visit their clean room & showroom and hear more about the hosting partner’s other work and projects. All participants were thoroughly inspired by their work, both inside and outside of the project.
The last in-person meeting was a tremendous opportunity to receive valuable feedback from the external reviewer and the Project Advisor from HaDEA agency of the European Commission, which will foster partnerships for future collaboration. Having a chance to discuss in person the results, as well as the learnings proved to be extremely beneficial for the partners, looking beyond the end of the project.
